Why "5-Piece Set" Can Mean Different Things

A 5-piece set does not always contain the same 5 pieces. Yinshiji offers two compositions: a classic western set (with small fork) and a Chinese-friendly set (with chopsticks).

Quick answer

A "5-piece set" does not always contain the same 5 pieces. Yinshiji's Silver Carved and Gold Tone Carved sets include knife + dinner fork + dinner spoon + small fork + small spoon. The Wenge Wood Handle set includes knife + dinner fork + dinner spoon + chopsticks + small spoon.

Why the difference?

A traditional western 5-piece set is designed for multi-course meals: dinner fork and a small fork for salad or dessert, a knife, a dinner spoon, and a small spoon.

In a Chinese home, chopsticks are used daily. Replacing one small fork with chopsticks makes the set more useful for mixed meals — rice, noodles, soup, and stir-fry.

Both compositions are valid. Choose based on what you actually eat.

Yinshiji's two formats

Silver Carved / Gold Tone Carved: knife + dinner fork + dinner spoon + small fork + small spoon.

Wenge Wood Handle: knife + dinner fork + dinner spoon + chopsticks + small spoon.

  • Knife: 23.8 cm in all sets.
  • Dinner fork: 20.5 cm in all sets.
  • Dinner spoon: 20 cm in all sets.
  • Small fork: 16.5 cm — carved sets only.
  • Chopsticks: 23 cm — Wenge set only.
  • Small spoon: 16.5 cm in all sets.
