About Yinshiji
Yinshiji designs carved stainless steel cutlery and wenge wood handle tableware from Jieyang, Guangdong — China's stainless steel manufacturing region. We make Chinese-inspired flatware that works on Western tables, with honest materials and no unnecessary stories.
Why Yinshiji Exists
Most stainless steel cutlery on the market follows European or Japanese design language. Chinese decorative traditions — intricate carving, symbolic motifs, natural wood accents — are rarely translated into everyday flatware. That gap is where Yinshiji starts.
We are not trying to reinvent the dinner table. We are asking a simpler question: why shouldn't a fork or a spoon carry the same visual care as the food it serves? Our carved handles draw from Chinese decorative arts. Our wenge wood pieces bring a natural warmth that stainless steel alone cannot offer. The result is tableware that feels considered without asking for attention.
Our Philosophy
We believe good tableware rests on three things: material honesty, purposeful design, and everyday usability.
- Material honesty means stating the exact steel grade by SKU — not a vague "premium stainless steel." Current carved 5-piece sets use 304 stainless steel for fork and spoon pieces and 410 for the knife. Product pages say so.
- Purposeful design means every visual detail — the carved handle, the wood grain, the finish tone — serves the experience of eating, not just the experience of looking.
- Everyday usability means these are pieces for daily tables, not display cabinets. They are meant to be used, washed, and used again.
Rooted in Jieyang, Guangdong
Yinshiji grows from Jieyang, a region in southern China that produces a significant share of the world's stainless steel tableware. This proximity shapes everything about how we work: we compare materials, finishes, and production details directly, without layers of intermediaries.
Being close to the supply chain does not make us a factory owner. It makes us better selectors. We sample, evaluate, and refine until a piece feels worth keeping — then we offer it in curated batches rather than endless inventory. This approach keeps our focus on product quality rather than volume.
Our Collections
Yinshiji currently offers three collections, each defined by its materials and mood:
- Silver Carved — classic silver tone with detailed carving. Clean, balanced, for everyday refined tables.
- Gold Tone Carved — warm gold finish with the same carved patterns. More expressive, for hosting and gifting.
- Wenge Wood Handle — natural wood handles paired with stainless steel heads. Warm, tactile, Chinese-Western everyday use.
Each collection is available as single pieces and 5-piece place settings. We start with these three because they cover the range from neutral to warm to natural — most tables will find a fit somewhere among them.
Where We Are Now — and Where We Are Going
Yinshiji is an early-stage brand. We do not pretend to have thousands of reviews, live inventory counters, or a global fulfillment network. What we do have is a clear direction: build Chinese-inspired tableware that earns its place on real tables, one batch at a time.
Currently we sell through our Taobao store and direct inquiry. Domestically, customers can browse, inquire, and purchase through Taobao. For wholesale, gifting, or collaboration inquiries, we welcome direct contact.
In the near term, we are focused on:
- Expanding our product line within the same material philosophy
- Building a visual and content presence that reflects the brand's aesthetic
- Making it easier for international customers to discover and purchase Yinshiji pieces
Why "Silver Food Records"?
Yinshiji (银食记) translates roughly to "Silver Food Records." The name comes from the idea that good meals are worth remembering — and the right tableware quietly helps make them so. Silver-toned pieces (and gold, and wood) that accompany dinners, celebrations, and morning coffees alike. It is a name rooted in everyday ritual, not in luxury.
